We had the real pleasure of welcoming Liz Skilling, one of our trustees, to Albany to share her experiences of Ethiopia and the work being done by Project Harar. Liz had travelled along with various professionals in the medical fraternity to volunteer their services in Ethiopia. Ethiopia has a large proportion of people who develop facial deformities due to a poor diet and hygiene caused by a lack of food or water. The presentation was a real eye opener for our learners, not only due to the images of the severe facial deformities, but it also provided an excellent education as to the struggles some other parts of the world are experiencing with a lack of natural resources.
